The Pilgrim was the third Brethren publication and was an attempt to combat the progressive tones of The Christian Family Companion in opposition to their Brethren policies. It began in 1870 in James Creek, PA and had a running of seven years. It was published by H.B. and J.B. Brumbaugh in answer to Family’s publication.
